Lady Antebellum and Country Stars Shine at Kentucky Derby

Lady Antebellum and Country Stars Shine at Kentucky Derby

It was an exciting day in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday (May 7) when a horse by the name of Nyquist, ridden by Mario Gutierrez, took home the crown at the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby. The race took place in front of a crowd of 167,227 people, the second highest in history, and country music was well represented.

The stars turned out in full force, dressed in their best attire to participate in the festivities while Lady Antebellum—Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley—had the honor of singing the national anthem prior to the race.

But the horses were not the only reason to tune in to the big event. It is of course the fashions and those hats! Hillary, along with Kelli Haywood (Dave Haywood’s wife) and Cassie Kelley (Charles Kelley’s wife), did not disappoint with their wide-brimmed hats and frilly dresses. And the men of Lady Antebellum—Dave, Charles and Chris Tyrell (Hillary’s husband)—held their own, looking dapper in their summer suits.

Joining them on the red carpet were many of country’s finest, including Clay Walker and wife Jessica, Terri Clark, who sported a green jacket and white pants along with her signature cowboy hat, Troy Gentry with wife Angie, Eddie Montgomery with wife Jennifer and Travis Tritt with wife Theresa.

But it was Tanya Tucker who, we think, stole the show with her mint green and teal dress with matching wild headpiece.

Congratulations goes out to Nyquist as we look forward to Preakness.

Luke Combs Gets 11th Number-1 with “Forever After All”

Congrats to Luke Combs – his song “Forever After All” is sitting at number-1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart!

This is Luke’s 11th consecutive number-1 song – and the 6th track off of his deluxe album What You See Ain’t Always What You Get to capture the top spot.

After hitting number-1 Luke says, “It’s pretty crazy having this song go number-1, being the sixth number-1 off this album. It’s incredible, and it’s all thanks to the fans. We have a really great team – from management, to label, to band and crew, and we’ve been lucky that country radio has embraced us, which means the world to me. I’m forever grateful to everybody that’s helped get my songs out there. I just wanna say thanks to everybody, and I never take it for granted.”
