The Americana Music Association announced its 2016 Honors & Awards nominees last night (May 11) at an invitation-only event in Washington D.C., and a familiar name is leading the pack: Jason Isbell.
The 2016 Grammy winner (Best Americana Album, Best American Roots Song) picked up three nominations for Album, Song and Artist of the Year.
Awards show juggernaut Chris Stapleton and Lucinda Williams (the 2015 Americana Album of the Year winner) both netted a pair of nominations for Album and Artist of the Year, while Margo Price picked up two nominations for New/Emerging Artist and Song of the Year
The 15th annual Americana Honors & Awards show will take place on Sept. 21 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium during the Americana Music Festival, which runs from Sept. 20–25.
