Jana Kramer Scores Perfect 10s With Trio Dance; Moves On To Finals On “Dancing With The Stars”

Jana Kramer Scores Perfect 10s With Trio Dance; Moves On To Finals On “Dancing With The Stars”

It was the semi-finals Monday night (Nov. 14) on Dancing With The Stars as the five remaining contestants—Jana Kramer, Calvin Johnson Jr., Laurie Hernandez, Terra Jolé and Jame Hinchcliffe— brought their A-game.

In this episode, we learned more about each contestant as they told their story of the perseverance and determination that got them this far in the competition.

“Unfortunately my parents got divorced when I was a Freshman in High School,” Jana said about her past. “I had to grow up pretty quick. I had to be like ‘alright, I have to take care of myself.’ As a girl in your adolescence you really need that strong father figure. I think that’s what led me down paths of wanting validation from men. Going at 18 to Los Angeles was obviously rough and I got in that sticky situation of meeting an older man. He turned out to be an awful person and I got stuck in a very, very bad situation.”

With determination, Jana took to the floor, with partner Gleb Savchenko, to dance the quickstep to the song “Go Mama” by Wayne Beckford.

While the couple was not completely in step, they earned a solid 28 out of 30—receiving a 9 from Carrie Ann Inaba, 9 from Julianne Hough and 10 from Bruno Tonioli.

“You had a little bit of a rough start just kind of getting in sync,” Carrie Ann said. “Everything after that was just so beautiful. I was watching you thinking ‘gosh, you’ve really come the furthest out of all our semi-finalists.’ The growth that you’ve shown us in your dancing— you’re so much stronger, you’re so much more open and the partnership…it was great.”

Then came the trio dance. Jana and Gleb added their friend Alan Bersten—who took over for Gleb in rehearsals when he was injured—as the third dancer. The trio turned on the sex appeal and danced the Paso Doble to “Kill Of The Night” by Gin Wigmore.
