There’s a reason T.J. and John Osborne of the Brothers Osborne are the reigning ACM and CMA Vocal Duo of the Year. They know how to put on a show. And that’s exactly what the Bros did at the Cannery Ballroom on Tuesday night (June 6) as they headlined the 2017 Nash Country Kick-Off Party, which was sponsored by Nash FM 103.3, Roper, Coca-Cola, Walmart, Sprint, Popchips and George Dickel.

But before T.J. and John started kicking, 2016 Nash Next champion Todd O’Neill had the honor of officially kicking off the night’s festivities, covering Bob Seger’s “Night Moves” and performing his current single, “Love Again,” among others.

Chuck Wicks, who also emceed the event, took the stage next and belted out a few of his crowd-pleasers, including “Stealing Cinderella” and “Whole Damn Thing,” before trio Runaway June—Naomi Cook, Hannah Mulholland and Jennifer Wayne—heated up the venue with “Wild West” and “Lipstick.”

The Brothers brought it home from there. In addition to playing a number of selections from their catalog, including “21 Summer,” “Stay a Little Longer” and their current single, “It Ain’t My Fault,” T.J. and John sampled a couple of new songs from their upcoming record, including a tune they co-wrote with Travis Meadows, which you can hear below.

All proceeds from the Nash Country Kick-Off Party benefit Musicians on Call, an organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

Dustin Lynch & MacKenzie Porter talk about “Thinking ‘Bout You”

Dustin Lynch recalls the exact moment during the writing of “Thinking ‘Bout You” when they thought it could work as a collaboration, “We realized, after we got to the chorus, wait a second, this is the duet moment we’ve been looking for. We can have the girl on the other end of the line, and her come in on the second verse, and now it’s a conversation. And I do think that’s why it’s so approachable and people relate to it and those phone calls can be life changing sometimes.”

As the song is knocking on the door to the number-one spot on the country music airplay chart, MacKenzie Porter shares that she and Dustin haven’t had a lot of opportunities to perform the hit song together, “The crazy part is like, we’ve actually probably sang it separately, more than we’ve sang it together, because our touring schedules are different. So then when we do get to do it together, it’s like oh yeah this is how, this is how it’s supposed to go, I’m not supposed to sing Dustin’s first verse, which I do in my own show. It just feels so natural.”
