Lindsay Ell to Release New Concept Album, “Heart Theory,” on Aug. 14

Lindsay Ell announced she will release a new concept album, heart theory, on Aug. 14.

The new album, which was produced by Dann Huff, is described in the press release as “an incredibly personal concept album comprised of 12 tracks that journey through each stage of grief: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and acceptance.”

Lindsay co-penned 11 tracks on the new project with a host of top songwriters, including Brandy Clark, Laura Veltz, Jessie Jo Dillon, Nicole Gaylon and more. The album’s lead single, “wAnt me back,” was penned by Lindsay, Kane Brown, Matt McGinn and Lindsay Rimes.

The track titles have been stylize in lowercase with sporadic capital letters to reflect the spelling of the name of the album, while the album’s title has also been stylized in lowercase.

“If theory is the science of music, heart theory is the science of a heart,” says Lindsay. “I hope this roadmap can be a comfort if you need it, reassurance when you need to remember to believe in yourself or maybe just a glimpse into a memory that’s made you who you are.”

The upcoming album follows the release of Lindsay’s major-label debut album, The Project, in 2017. In 2018, Lindsay released The Continuum Project, a track-by-track cover of John Mayer’s Continuum.

Thomas Rhett takes 2020 Lessons Learned Into 2021

2020 was a year that taught us all a lot. Thomas Rhett reflects on the year we just left behind, and what he will take with him into this new year, “You know, 2020 has definitely been hard in many ways, especially for a lot of different families who have either lost work or people that have been on the front lines working in hospitals, or teachers trying to teach three year olds how to learn their letters and their numbers. But for us, I think 2020 has had several silver linings, and for me, I think I was going at such a rapid pace that 2020 definitely forced me to slow down. And so I hope I can take that mindset back into 2021.”
